The primary goals of the UNESCO Chair MATECSS are capacity building and technology transfer, both of which depend critically on facilitiating communication and productive working relationships between scientists, engineers and students around the world.  The UNESCO Chair MATECSS comprises a core of expertise represented by the participating professors at the EMT centre of INRS in Varennes, Canada, along with the contributed strengths of partner professors located at institutions around the world.  Starting in September 2014, the MATECSS program will extend to include PhD students enrolled at INRS-EMT.
